ইউনির্ভাস। আমাদের বাস্তব জগৎ। যে জগতে আপনি আমি বাস করছি। কোনকিছু অনুভব করছি। ভালোবাসছি। কিন্তু এমন এক বিশ্বের কথা ভেবে দেখুন যেখানে একটি কোম্পানি তাদের নতুন মডেলের একটি গাড়ি তৈরি করার পর সেটা অনলাইনে বাজারে ছেড়ে দিল এবং একজন ক্রেতা হিসেবে আপনি বিশ্বের যেকোনো স্থান থেকে গাড়িটি চালিয়ে দেখতে পারলেন।
অথবা ঘরে বসে অনলাইন শপিং করার সময় একটি পোশাক পছন্দ হলো। ওই পোশাকের একটি ডিজিটাল সংস্করণ গায়ে দিয়ে দেখার পরই আপনি জামাটি কেনার জন্য অর্ডার দিলেন। বিষয়টা হয়তো বৈজ্ঞানিক কল্প-কাহিনীর ওপর ভিত্তি করে নির্মিত সাই-ফাই মুভির মতো মনে হচ্ছে। তাই না.? কিন্তু সত্যি কথা বলতে এখন আর সেটা কল্পনার পর্যায়ে থাকছে না। এরকম এক প্রযুক্তি তৈরির কাজ ইতোমধ্যে শুরু করে হয়ে গেছে। এই প্রযুক্তির ফলে অনলাইনের ভার্চুয়াল জগতকে মনে হবে সত্যিকারের বাস্তব পৃথিবীর মতো। বিষয়টা আরো একটু পরিস্কার করে বললে এমন হয় যে, মনে করুন ফেসবুকে আপনার একজন বন্ধু কাশ্মীরের পাহাড়ে বেড়াতে যাওয়ার অপূর্ব কিছু ছবি পোস্ট করেছেন। ফেসবুক দেখার সময় এই প্রযুক্তির কারণে মনে হবে আপনিও সেখানে উপস্থিত আছেন।
আর যে প্রযুক্তির মাধ্যমে এসব ঘটবে তার নাম মেটাভার্স। কিন্তু দাড়ান। মেটাভার্স শব্দটার অর্থ এতটা সরলীকরণ হলেও বিষয়টা কিন্তু অতটা সহজ নয়। এর পেছনে লুকিয়ে আছে গভীর একটি বিজ্ঞান। যে বিজ্ঞান সম্পতী সামনে এসেছে ফেসবুকের নাম পরিবর্তনের হাত ধরে। আপনি কি জানেন, কেন এই নাম পরিবর্তন.? কিনবা আপনি কি খেয়াল করেছেন, যে নিজের অজান্তেই আপনি এর মধ্যেই বাস্তবের এই দুনিয়ার পাশাপাশি ঢুকে গেছেন কল্প বিজ্ঞানের এই দুনিয়ায়.? যদি না জানেন, তাহলে অবশ্যই এই ভিডিওটা শেষ পর্যন্ত দেখুন।

Or like a dress while shopping online at home. After ordering a digital version of the dress, you ordered the dress. The subject may seem like a sci-fi movie based on science fiction. Isn't it.? But to be honest, it is no longer in the imagination. The work of creating such a technology has already started. This technology will make the online virtual world feel like the real world. To put it bluntly, suppose a friend of yours posted some wonderful pictures on Facebook of going for a walk in the mountains of Kashmir. This technology will make you feel like you are there when you visit Facebook.
And the technology that will make this happen is called Metaverse. But wait. The word metaverse means so much simplification but it is not so simple. There is a deep science behind this. The science property that has come to the fore is the name change of Facebook. Do you know why this name is changed?
