Four (4) men allegedly involved in the kidnapping of doubles vendor Anisha Hosein-Singh were killed during a police-involved shooting in St Johns Road, St Augustine earlier on Thursday 23rd May, 2024. • The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Akeem Punnette aka Keem Keem , 27-year-old Christopher Noriega aka “John Doe” of #11 Ballentine Road, Five Rivers, Arouca, Tevon Maynard aka “Beaver” of Lp4 Margaret Cipriani, Kelly Village and another man only identified as his alias Bounty Killer , who were all said to be members of the resistance gang. Last night, Abducted doubles vendor Anisha Hosein-Singh was released by her captors after a ransom was allegedly paid. • Around 10:00pm, a passer-by saw Anisha near the Caroni cremation site and took her to the St Joseph Police Station. • She was then taken to the Mt Hope Hospital where she was medically examined. Christopher Noriega, one of the suspects killed by police earlier today, was also one of the men wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of two allied security guards during a heist at Pennywise Plaza in La Romain on September 19th, 2022. Several students were injured during an alleged brawl between warring 6 and 7 gangs at the Palo Seco Government Secondary School on Thursday 23rd May, 2024. A businessman was robbed by eight bandits at his home along Endeavour Road, Extension early on Thursday 23rd May, 2024. The Greater Love Christian Centre in St Mary’s Village, Mc Bean Village, Couva belonging to Reverent Judy Karim, The wife of late former Minister, Fazal Karim was broken into and robbed earlier on Thursday 23rd May, 2024. A murder trial had to be postponed after one of the state’s witnesses allegedly overdosed on pills while waiting to continue her testimon .
