🌟 [ 13 ] Government will make it clear to China they dont want destabilisation in the region [ @Sky News Australia ]
Assistant Defence Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says the government will disagree “where they must” regarding talks with China. Chinese Premier Li Qiang has reached Canberra as he continues his tour of Australia. This comes amid ongoing tensions between the two nations and China’s recent provocation when it dropped flares near an Australian navy helicopter. “We’ll try to cooperate with China where we can but disagree where we must,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia. “One of those areas is in defence. “We don’t want any destabilisation within our region, and we’ll make that very clear to the Chinese government today. “We’ll also attempt to stabilise that relationship because it means jobs for Australians.”
