In such a situation, the Bihar government on Saturday issued a flood warning along the overflowing rivers like Kosi, Gandak and Ganga in the northern and central parts of the state. The State Water Resources Department (WRD) said in a statement, Due to heavy rains in Nepal, the flow of water in rivers like Gandak, Kosi, Mahananda etc. has increased significantly on Saturday. This may worsen the situation of more than 16.28 lakh people in 13 districts, who are already affected by floods after heavy rains.
नेपाल में बारिश की वजह से 112 लोगों की मौत हो गई है। इस बीच वाल्मीकिनगर और बीरपुर बैराजों से पानी छोड़ दिया गया है। ऐसे में बिहार सरकार ने शनिवार को राज्य के उत्तरी और मध्य भागों में कोसी, गंडक और गंगा जैसी उफनती नदियों के किनारे बाढ़ की चेतावनी जारी की है। राज्य जल संसाधन विभाग (डब्ल्यूआरडी) ने एक बयान में कहा, ‘‘नेपाल में भारी बारिश के कारण, गंडक, कोसी, महानंदा आदि नदियों में पानी का बहाव शनिवार को काफी बढ़ गया है।’’ इससे 13 जिलों के 16.28 लाख से अधिक लोगों की स्थिति और खराब हो सकती है, जो पहले से ही भारी बारिश के बाद बाढ़ से प्रभावित हैं।
