Malaysia has much to cheer for today, as national powerlifting champion Bonnie Bunyau Gustin powered through and gifted Malaysia its first gold medal of the Tokyo Paralympics in the men’s 72-kilogramme category! The 22-year-old Sarawakian is a main medal contender for the event, after breaking the world record in the same event at the 11th Fazza Dubai 2021 Para Powerlifting World Cup in UAE by lifting 230kg and winning gold at the event.
