( 28821 viewed : 783 like : 32 comments ) India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar attended the Raisina Dialogue on February 22. EAM speaking at a session titled ‘A Tapestry of Truths: Can the Two Hemispheres Agree? the minister spoke on multilateralism and how the UN played with the Kashmir issue. Jaishankar said India took the Kashmir issue aggression to UN and others made it an accession issue.
He said, “It’s now something new, that was always the case. Very literally in our first year of Independence we put our trust on multilateralism and took the Kashmir aggression issue to the UN and others made it into an accession issue and they did it for geopolitical reasons. So the fact is, you say people play multilateralism, they always did. We have grown up… it's not like we should be against multilateralism.”
