The Royal College of Nursing have said in their national congress that the NHS is in a state of national emergency, with patients reportedly being treated in car parks, corridors and cupboards. Professor Dame Anne-Marie Rafferty, former president of the Royal College of Nursing agrees this is the case. She says: This is a situation which is not new, but has been brewing for some time and has really begun to escalate out of control.
