Labor MP Andrew Charlton says it has taken a lot of “patience, diplomacy and hard work” to secure the release of Julian Assange. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has landed in Canberra after he was freed by a US court following pleading guilty to espionage. “The government deserves credit for bringing an Australian citizen home, whatever you think of that Australian citizen and what he did,” Mr Charlton told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
