“I think the markets tightened a little bit and potentially it might tighten further if rates go back up or if they stay higher for longer, which unfortunately seems that that might be the case,” Mr Dutton said at the Bush Summit in Townsville on Friday.
“So we need to get the balance right. The government’s brought in a million people over the last two years; we’ve only built 265,000 homes.
“Young Australians are losing the dream of home ownership, which is a tragedy in our country.
