The website PowerOutages shows nearly 100% of customers in Hardee County have been without power, with people in Sarasota, Manatee and Pinella counties also hit hard by cuts.

Speaking from the White House earlier on Wednesday, President Joe Biden said Milton is expected to be one of the most destructive hurricanes in Florida in over a century .
