the Desert Fox of legend -
and his battle with General Montgomery. Sent with his specially trained Afrika Korps to stem the Italian retreat. Rommel succeeded in driving the British back to the Egyptian border, after the heroic defence of Tobruk the fighting ebbed and flowed until the great British victory at El Alamein. The events of the Desert Ear were central to the outcome of the entire war. This film features an interview by the Rt Hon Viscount Montgomery of Alamein CBE
