The court included 1st Runner Up Christine Juliane Opiaza from the Philippines, Thae Su Nyein of Myanmar was awarded 2nd Runner Up who later got dethroned, Safiétou Kabengele from France was 3rd Runner Up and Miss Brazil Talita Hartmann finished 4th Runner Up. After the crowning moment the National Director of Miss Grand Myanmar Htoo Ant Lwin removed the crown and sash from Thae Su Nyein in front of the media which resulted in a heated controversy. Attending Miss Grand International 2024 in Bangkok was an unforgettable experience that highlighted the beauty of cultural exchange and empowerment.
Top 10 finalists were awarded as 5th Runner Up included Miss Grand Dominican Republic – María Felix, Miss Grand Indonesia – Nova Liana (Popular Vote), Miss Grand Peru – Arlette Rujel, Miss Grand Spain – Susana Medina and Miss Grand United Kingdom – Amy Viranya Berry.
The event, held at the iconic MGI Hall located in Bravo BKK showcased contestants from around the globe, each representing their unique heritage and aspirations. The atmosphere was electric, filled with anticipation as the contestants prepared to demonstrate their grace, talent, and social advocacy. It was inspiring to witness the dedication and passion these young women brought to the stage, each sharing their vision for positive change in their communities. Throughout the event, the organization emphasized the importance of peace and unity, aligning with its mission to promote global harmony. Networking opportunities allowed me to connect with individuals from various backgrounds, fostering discussions on the role of pageantry in social change.
Moreover, the vibrant cultural performances and stunning fashion showcased the richness of Thai culture, creating a backdrop that was both beautiful and meaningful. This experience not only deepened my appreciation for the art of pageantry but also reinforced the idea that beauty can indeed be a powerful force for good in the world. I left Bangkok with a renewed sense of purpose and admiration for the diverse voices that contribute to this global platform.
