🌟 [ 1 ] Can I Create a NEW Quilt Pattern... in 1 Hour?! [ @ ]
( 8497 viewed : 957 like : 111 comments ) I want to create a brand new quilt pattern, but can I do it in 1 hour?! This week at Sew Yeah Quilting, Teancum's building a brand new pattern from scratch using a Layer Cake and a bit of yardage. It's pre cut friendly, so grab a layer cake from your stash and let's get to sewing!
There is no written pattern for this quilt, but here are all the measurements and instructions if you'd like to replicate this pattern:
Requirements:
1 Layer Cake (42 Pieces)
1/3+ Yard of Background (26 by Width of Fabric)
Fabric A:
1) Separate your layer cake into lights & darks.
2) Alternating lights & darks, sew 6 layer cake pieces together.
Repeat until you have 7 rows.
3) Sew all rows together.
Fabric B:
1) Cut yardage down into 6 1/2 x WoF strips (or use a Vegas Strip)
2) Sew each strip end to end on the short side
Assembly:
1) Measure 14 1/4 away from one side of your large Fabric A piece
2) Cut down the entire length of your quilt top.
3) Add one long strip of Fabric B in between the two cut pieces, and sew. Cut excess if necessary.
4) Measure 14 1/4 away from the top of the newly sewn quilt top
5) Cut down the entire width of your quilt top.
6) Sew remaining long strip in between the two cut pieces, and sew. Cut excess if necessary.
Quilt, Bind & Enjoy! Finished quilt measures 74 by 64
