In the afternoon and evening of Thursday, January 2, Crucita was seriously affected by the waves. Parts of the sidewalk were destroyed by the sea water that forced its way into the street. More than 20 dump trucks filled with sand have been removed from the dock of the parish of Crucita, Portoviejo (Manabí). The sand is the product of the strong waves that have been recorded for several days. Along the causeway, more than a hundred officials and employees of the Municipality of Portoviejo, personnel from the “blue vests” and residents of the parish, participated in the cleaning task.
