( 9435 viewed : 362 like : 113 comments ) Political journalist John Fund has weighed in on whether or not there needs to be term limits for US Senators, following former Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell's latest incident.
It comes as McConnell's fall on Wednesday is the latest in a number of incidents the longtime former leader has taken over the past few years.
Mr Fund argued that the need for term limits is becoming increasingly pressing.
“I think it's necessary because if we don't have term limits, I'll tell you what the American people are going to do. They're going to put an age limit on Congress people,” Mr Fund told Sky News host James Morrow.
“Look, the average age of the United States Senate is now over 65 and that means there are a lot of people who are past their prime and one of the reasons why Joe Biden was able to hide in plain sight his frailty is there were a lot of senators who didn't want to make that an issue.
