The main purpose of these drone operations is to hit oil and gas resources that are vital for the Russian militaryâs aircraft, ships and ground vehicles, thus gaining an advantage in the defense lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The explosions in Volgograd were particularly striking. While Russian sources claim that air defense systems were activated, local sources reported that the explosions occurred in the area of ââan oil refinery or oil depot and that a serious fire broke out.
This shows that the Kiev administration can reach military targets hundreds of kilometers away with long-range UAVs.
Similarly, the Ilsky Oil Refinery and surrounding areas in Krasnodar Krai were repeatedly hit. It is reported that Ukrainian sources targeted facilities such as the Afipskiy refinery in Krasnodar with drone attacks, and large fires broke out.
These refineries are known to be critical facilities where Russia produces millions of tons of military fuel per year.
A factory in Smolensk was similarly attacked, and the Russian Ministry of Defense was forced to impose flight restrictions at many airports, implementing the âCarpetâ plan in some regions.
All these developments show that the Russian army is facing major difficulties in terms of logistics and fuel supply.
Although the Putin administration is trying to strengthen its air defense network against Ukraineâs increasing drone attacks, information from the field confirms that the Russian side is suffering heavy losses and there are disruptions in supply processes behind the lines.
Ukrainian UAVs are particularly damaging to the reconnaissance capabilities and logistics of Russian troops.
One of the biggest advantages on the battlefield is Ukraineâs ability to coordinate the use of both FPV drones and long-range systems such as HIMARS.
This situation continues to pose a threat to both the ground and air elements of the Russian Armed Forces. According to information from near Pokrovsk, Russian soldiers are experiencing serious difficulties in transporting fuel, food and ammunition.
In videos shared by some Russian volunteers, it is stated that due to the lack of electronic warfare on the front, Ukrainian UAVs can fly almost continuously in the air, constantly monitoring and hitting the Russian army and armored vehicles.
On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team emphasize that the most effective way to weaken the Russian economy and force Putin to the peace table is to disrupt Russiaâs oil and gas revenues.
In addition to sanctions imposed by the European Union and the US, the Kiev administration is trying to restrict Moscowâs export capacity by targeting Russian oil depots and oil refineries with drone and missile attacks on the ground.
In particular, critical facilities such as the Ryazan Refinery and the Volgograd Refinery were hit several times, and these attacks pose serious problems for Russiaâs aviation fuel production. Finally, figures shared based on data from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces claim that the Russian side suffered hundreds of thousands of casualties, losing a large number of tanks, armored vehicles, aircraft, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.
