I still think it s the most painted Algoma vessel out there Pictures @ [ 🔗 Click ‼️ ] About this visit: They arrived Superior WI December 28 2023 at 16:57 and dropped anchor in the lake waiting for the Philip R Clarke to finish their loading at BN-5. They got their turn at the BN dock December 29 at 14:26, when they arrived in the Superior Canal. The Transport pulled into the BN dock at 15:15 and began loading their last (?) cargo of their career. December 30 at 09:00 they completed their loading and departed the BN dock. Their official departure from Superior WI was 09:30. they were heading to Hamilton Ontario to deliver the ore. This season they had 5 Duluth arrivals. Four of them they loaded Petroleum Coke, one of them they loaded ore. They delivered to Bath Ontario 2 times, Three Rivers QC 2 times and Hamilton Ontario 2 times They spent 142.2 hours in the Port of Duluth this season They spent 19.04 hours in the Port of Superior This season RIP. info from mittenstatenews.com As of now, there is not an exact date of when the ship will be scrapped, but the ship will be retired in 2024. That makes 2023 its last, full shipping season. The ship is expected to be scrapped at Marine Recycling Corporation in Port Colburne, Ontario. The Algoma Transport is the sister ship of the Algoma Enterprise, which was scrapped in 2021 at Marine Recycling. The Algoma Transport will be replaced by the Algoma Bear, a new Alogma Equinox freighter, apart of Algoma s Equinox Class.
