Amtrak passenger train hits cars on tracks near Hillsborough Street in Raleigh
An Amtrak passenger train on Wednesday hit two unoccupied cars on the tracks near the intersection of Hillsborough Street and Beryl Road in Raleigh. Before 1:30 p.m., the train tracks were blocked by multiple emergency vehicles, and Sky 5 showed at least one car with serious damage. A spokesperson from Amtrak said Train 75 traveling from Raleigh to Charlotte hit two vehicles obstructing the tracks. Ninety-two passengers were on board, but no one was injured, Amtrak said.
